Teresa Wallace
Teresa Wallace is the President of Agility Leadership Coaching and the Sunday Serenity Leadership Coach. She works with top performing leaders when new challenges threaten their long track records of success. Teresa uses a three-step process – Aware. Act. Achieve, to help her clients learn new skills to address the new challenges, get their confidence and peak performance back, so they can REST instead STRESS on Sunday nights.
How Did You Start Using Your Talents?
Teresa enlisted in the U.S. Army right after high school as a way of paying for college. She is the first member of her family to go to college. After finishing active duty, she went into reserves. “I ended up being a trainer on the firing range. I’m a sharp-shooter. That’s the first time I realized I have a natural gift for teaching. I think I was selected because I was able to motivate other people and teach them. You don’t always have to be able to DO it, but you do have to have a gift for teaching and motivating other people.
The Most Impactful Turning Point?
After several years in training and development for Fortune 500 companies, Teresa began to notice how many high achievers would face frustrations, difficulties and even occasional failures when they were promoted and needed training and support. “I thought, ‘One day I’m gonna do something about that. I don’t know what, but one day I will.’ Then I started not being happy in corporate America anymore.” The seed idea of her coaching practice had been sown.
The Most Powerful Lessons Learned?
“Just seeing that I could make up my mind and DO it—go out on my own—I learned that I really can make it happen. Every day is not easy. When you’re an entrepreneur it goes up and down, good days and bad days. But I can see clearly now that everything in my journey pointed me to this point in time.”
