How Did You Start Using Your Talents?
A dancer from the age of six, she put dancing aside and took a clerical job at 19. In less than a year she knew this wasn’t for her, and she returned to dancing, opening a studio. Soon she saw her impact on the children she taught extended far beyond dancing. “They made me a better person, a better listener. I learned to care about what mattered to them.”
The Most Impactful Turning Point?
When her 20-year marriage broke up in 2010, Samantha felt lost. “I had lost myself and lost my purpose. I had to ask myself what I wanted to do.” With this nudge from the Universe she picked up the pieces. “The darkest times have brought me to the brightest times.”
The Most Powerful Lessons Learned?
“We’re brought up to believe there’s a certain way to do things. Maybe no one has said, ‘There is another way. Maybe we don’t all need to fit into a box.’ I’m all about getting the message out that there is another way to think, that we do have options.”
