How Did You Start Using Your Talents?
Bound for a career in medicine, J.V.’s father asked for help with his failing business for six months. He stayed 18+ years. Without formal business knowledge, but with intuition and authentic desire, “I put systems in place and turned the company around,” he recalls.
The Most Impactful Turning Point?
In seventh grade when, tired of hearing his teacher mother tell him about not living up to his potential, he created a system for earning A’s. With his first 4.0, he knew he’d be valedictorian. He credits being systematic and organized for his many successes later in life.
The Most Powerful Lessons Learned?
Two childhood misconceptions:
1) “Wealthy” doesn’t mean you did something wrong to get rich; and
2) Business is not the place you go to lose money, though J.V.’s father’s business always seemed to lose money. With a conscious approach, “You’re doing it from a conscious desire to uplift other people.”
