82. Multi-Talented Visioneer Blends Music, Visual Arts and Business Skills
Dahlan Foah
Dahlan Foah is president of Visioneering® International, Inc. Combining his talents in music and visual arts with emerging technologies positioned him as a pioneer in the audiovisual/multimedia industry. As a principal audiovisual consultant to the United Nations, he brought his diverse skills to exhibitions, Visitor Centers and World’s Fair pavilions, and many installations for corporate clients.
How Did You Start Using Your Talents?
Born into a highly artistic family, which included Enrico Leide, founder of the first Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Dahlan was steeped in music and art appreciation from childhood. Being a photographer in a documentary at the United Nations for an independent producer opened doors for his future collaborations with U.N. agencies worldwide.
The Most Impactful Turning Point?
Beginning his working partnership with Honora Foah in 1989 brought synergy and engendered a second career as a small business consultant. His current focus is primarily as a cultural entrepreneur. He is producer and music director for Creativity in Captivity, the Recombinant DNA project and other new works.
The Most Powerful Lessons Learned?
“Try as best you can to work at something you enjoy. Be alert to be aware of what your possibilities are and how things can lead one to another. The other thing to me is people. Life is short. Why work with people you don’t enjoy working with?”
