149. Podcaster Teaches Continuous Improvement, Lean Leadership
Chris Burnham
Chris Burnham is a lifelong learner and teacher of Lean Management Systems and Continuous Improvement. Understanding that leadership is the difference between success and failure, Chris uses The Lean Leadership Podcast to teach, equip, and motivate others on using their gifts and talents to improve their own lives and others around them.
How Did You Start Using Your Talents?
Chris could see how many skills learned in his criminal justice studies were transferable. “I’d learned to speak with people in all walks of life, treat every individual as a person and be an empathetic listener.” He saw that his talents that meshed with one field could be engaged in another.
The Most Impactful Turning Point?
Only test results away from his college graduation and a career with the U.S. Border Patrol, Chris took a call from a friend, asking him to come interview with his own employer, a technical support staffing company serving the automotive industry. He trusted his gut, totally changing career direction.
The Most Powerful Lessons Learned?
“It’s all about people. I’ve always realized that deriving your joy from being a part of the success of others pays great dividends to you down the line. You can’t simulate, buy or rent that feeling of satisfaction. It only comes by investing in somebody else and seeing them be successful.”
